Det Insp Nick Gribben, of Police Scotland, said: “Fox was responsible for bringing fear and misery to local communities in Paisley.

“The information obtained confirmed his direct involvement in organised crime. It illustrated he was the one orchestrating widescale drug supply and distribution.

“He sought to profit from the misery of others. Perhaps he thought he was above the law, this sentence says otherwise.”

In January this year, Fox was jailed for more than six years for killing Jim Paterson while driving under the influence of alcohol.

He was driving at 91mph in a 30mph zone when hit the pedestrian on Bredilands Road in Paisley, Renfrewshire, at 02:00 on 27 November 2022.

He was more than double the legal alcohol limit when he ignored pleas from his friends not to get behind the wheel of his Mercedes A45.

Judge Lord Cubie said Fox had shown a “selfish disregard” for the laws of the road.
