Teenager Millie Greenfield completed a memorable four weeks as she became a world champion.
Star Kickboxing’s Greenfield, who earned the WKO European title at Rochester’s Casino Rooms in late June, saw off Aoibheann Tunstead in Saturday’s bout by a unanimous decision to take the WKA K1 world title kickboxing crown on the KBX8 show.
Millie Greenfield, of Star Kickboxing, has enjoyed a remarkable four weeks
Instructor Leigh Haworth, who runs Star Kickboxing at Apex Business Park, Lower Shorne, alongside son Paul Haworth, said: “We have got a bit of a name.
“We have achieved world titles in the past – but this is our first in a while.
“Hopefully, it will push us out into the limelight again and attract interest in kickboxing. We do boxing, as well, but it’s the kickboxing where we excel.
“The club is celebrating its 20th year this year. It’s run by my son, Paul, and I assist as a coach.
“We have a good team.”

Greenfield’s latest triumph came at The Civic Hall in Grays.
“Apart from attacking the [Dartford] Tunnel, it was quite an easy trip,” said Haworth. “The KBX8 events are prestigious.
“There were 26 fights that evening. There were some other title fights and things like that but Millie was going for a vacant title.
“The girl she was fighting, she already has had a world title with a different organisation so we knew it was going to be tough.”
Greenfield, 15, is something of a club stalwart.
Haworth said: “She really has trained hard.
“It came on the back of the European title she won so she went from training for that, straight to this. She grabbed the opportunity with both hands and said ‘Yeah, let’s have it’.
“She must have been training with Star for about eight years now, I would say.”
