The presenter said she was particularly fond of the four-day trip because the Isle of Wight was the first holiday she remembered as a child.

“Back then, I thought we were going abroad because of the very exciting ferry journey and our three were equally besotted with the ride across to the Island,” she said.

Alex and her family rented an Airbnb in the West Wight and spent four days exploring.

Posting on Instagram, she said Blackgang Chine was a highlight, with her children ‘loving’ the attraction.

They also made milkshakes at Warren Farm in Totland.

She called Osborne House ‘beautiful’ with a ‘fascinating history’ and praised its ‘charming’ beach.

The family chose quieter beaches but visited Alum Bay to see the coloured sand and the Needles, while the children loved the cable car to the beach.

She added: “Also, if you want a good restaurant for a treat, The Hut at Colwell was incredible with views to die for”, before ending her post: “We will be back”.

Alex is the latest celebrity to have visited the Island.

Diane Morgan, Louis Partridge and James Norton were spotted on the Isle of Wight last week.
