Bristol City concluded their pre-season friendly schedule, and double-header Saturday, with a 1-1 draw against League Two Exeter City on Saturday evening.

A late goal from Tomi Horvat proved to be enough to cancel out a magnificent first-half strike from Reece Cole on a warm evening, as Michael Skubala’s Robins were held by Matt Taylor’s Grecians at St James Park.

The Slovenian international was beneficiary of a large deflection on the edge of the Exeter box with just seven minutes of regulation time to play. That small intervention completely changed the path of the ball to give the City supporters stationed behind the goal something to celebrate.

With the visit to Devon marking the end of the Reds’ run of friendly fixtures this summer, attention now shifts to the start of the competitive campaign. City will host Walsall at Ashton Gate on Thursday evening in the first round of the Carabao Cup.
