UPDATE: PWInsider has now reported that this was in fact a mistake and the match will not have a Street Fight stipulation: “Oddly enough, the chairs list the match as a Street Fight. In asking around, PWInsider.com is told that the match will not carry that stipulation tonight, so, well, oops, I guess?”
CM Punk vs Cody Rhodes for the WWE Championship is set to headline Night 1 of SummerSlam 2026 tonight from the U.S. Bank Stadium in Minneapolis, Minnesota. According to a new report from Fightful, it looks as though the main event will be a Street Fight…at least if some of the marketing for the show is to be believed.
Punk posted an image of the official chairs (that some fans will have purchased for the event) on his Instagram stories, which indicated that the match tonight will be a Street Fight for the Undisputed WWE Championship. WWE has not confirmed that there will be a stipulation for the match (as of writing), but this may well be confirmed on the broadcast itself.
