The disciplinary verdict for the Championship and reserve grade games is in and one Huddersfield Giants player has been handed a three-match ban, with that news coming just hours after his returned to the team’s Super League side.
Huddersfield forward Jack Billington has spent much of the season on loan at Widnes Vikings in the Championship, however, the 21-year-old was recalled from his loan spell and made a first appearance for the Giants since March when he played on Thursday night.
Billington had a strong return in claret and amber as he played off the bench in the club’s 22-16 win over Hull FC, however, it’s now been confirmed by the RFL that the forward has been handed a three-match ban for his actions whilst on loan at Widnes.
Unlike the Super Leagye disciplinary verdict, which comes on Monday, the ruling for the Championship, reserve grade and Women’s Super League comes later in the week and yesterday’s ruling confirmed four bans, with one of those going to Billington.
It’s unclear if Jim Lenihan had Billington in the Giants’ plans for next week or not but both Huddersfield and Widnes will be unable to call upon the forward, after he landed a three-match ban for kicking in Widnes’ win over Salford.

Huddersfield Giants man among Championship bans
Also banned was St Helens’ Deacon Swarbrick, who has been named to the 21-man squad on ocassion but is yet to debut for the senior team, with Swarbrick banned for late contact on the passer.

Alfie Thomas of Leigh’s academy was banned for two matches for head contact, whilst Callum Farrar of Workington copped a two-match ban for dangerous contact.
Leeds Rhinos’ Jeremiah Mata’utia, who has spent time on loan at Hull FC this season, was also charged whilst representing the Rhinos’ reserves but he did not land a ban.
