Kirkgate Pharmacy, located on Darley Street in Bradford, has been acquired by Kirkgate Pharma Ltd, marking the company’s first venture in the sector.
The business was previously owned by Ibrar Khan, who purchased the pharmacy in 2020 and is now focusing on other pharmacy interests in Leeds and Wakefield.

“The pharmacy has benefited from a brand-new fit-out, with a spacious layout and two consultation rooms, providing excellent opportunities to expand both NHS and private clinical services.
“I look forward to creating a trusted healthcare destination and bringing new and innovative healthcare services to the people of Bradford.”
The pharmacy dispenses around 7,250 items per month.
It also offers services including a travel clinic, flu vaccinations, and prescription deliveries.
Situated in a busy commercial area, Kirkgate Pharmacy relocated to its current site roughly a year ago.
The pharmacy is part of a district currently undergoing significant investment and regeneration.
Mr Khan said: “Having started Kirkgate Pharmacy in 2020 when Christie & Co helped me acquire the nearby Superdrug contract, I contacted them when the time was right to sell so I could focus on my other ventures in Leeds and Wakefield.
“It was a difficult decision as the Kirkgate contract is where it all began for me in my hometown of Bradford.
“It’s great that the business has passed down to a young, Bradfordian pharmacist who knows the town and its people.
“I wish him all the best of success.”
The sale was managed by specialist business property adviser Christie & Co, and the pharmacy was sold for an undisclosed price.
