A rat has been spotted scurrying through the corridor of a hospital in south Wales.
The video, sent to ITV Cymru Wales, shows a rodent at the Royal Glamorgan Hospital near Pontyclun. The animal can be seen running along the corridor as a person follows it.
The hospital is a district general hospital in Ynysmaerdy, Rhondda Cynon Taf. It is managed by the Cwm Taf Morgannwg University Health Board, and treats NHS Wales patients.
In a statement the health board said: ”Immediate inspections of the hospital and surrounding areas were undertaken by our pest control contractor and Facilities teams.
“No evidence of rodent activity was identified during these inspections.
“As a precaution, additional monitoring stations have been installed in external areas and further inspections will be carried out by our pest control contractor. We have also reinforced the importance of keeping doors and windows closed where appropriate.
“We would like to reassure patients and the public that there is currently no evidence of an ongoing issue within the hospital. We have robust pest management measures in place and will continue to monitor the situation closely.”
