Marcus Jervis, a well-known local musician in the 80s and 90s, has published a book about his experiences as part of the Lowestoft music scene.
During that time, Mr Jervis played with bands like Merlin, Stormchild, and Rosie Blue as a drummer.
Not only that, Mr Jervis DJ’d at venues like the South Pier and The Fighting Cocks, while also working as a music writer for the Lowestoft Journal.

He also carved out a career as a writer for heavy metal magazines and websites which saw him cover bands across Europe and beyond, where he met and worked with members of rock music’s A-list, including Alice Cooper, Slash, and Lynyrd Skynyrd.
Titled ‘The Metal Diaries: how I failed – and succeeded in the world of heavy metal’, the book is now on Amazon Kindle on 31.
