Finau posted a second-round 66 to make the cut on the number, after opening up with a round of 71 on Thursday.
2026 has been a really challenging year for the 36-year-old from Utah, with only one top-10 finish to his name on the PGA Tour in 21 starts, as well as six missed cuts.
Tony Finau requires at least a two-way tie for third this week at the Wyndham Championship in order to make the FedEx Cup playoffs.

Finau described golf as a ‘crazy game’ just last week, highlighting how quickly things can change.
And now he needs a couple of rounds in the low 60s over the weekend at the Wyndham Championship to prolong his season.
Tony Finau took drastic measures to make the cut at the Wyndham Championship
Finau fought back incredibly well to make the cut on Friday at Sedgefield Country Club in Greensboro, North Carolina.
He played some really solid golf on day two of the Wyndham, making five birdies and a solitary bogey during his round of 66.
However, it certainly wasn’t easy for the six-time PGA Tour winner to compile the score that he did on Friday.

The popular American is no stranger to taking drastic measures midway through tournament rounds in order to turn the tide.
And he did exactly that during his second round of the Wyndham Championship on Friday.
Finau can be seen trying the one-handed putting method in the below video posted on the PGA Tour’s official X account.

Finau ranks 80th in strokes gained putting through two rounds of the Wyndham Championship this week, having lost 3.477 strokes on the field.
On Friday when Finau switched to putting one-handed midway through the round, he lost 0.626 strokes on the field on the greens.
However, that was an improvement from Thursday during his first round when he lost 2.852 strokes putting.
Tony Finau has struggled on the greens all season long, and he is currently ranked 108th in strokes gained putting.
Amazingly, though, his performance with the flat-stick in 2026 has actually improved from the past three seasons, when he ranked 124th, 156th and 125th respectively in strokes gained on the greens.
He clearly needs to address his putting woes if he is to ever return to the winners’ circle, because putting one-handed is certainly not a long-term fix.
