A former Leeds Rhinos man has made a surprise code switch and will now take up the ‘Nines’ version of rugby league.
Ethan Clark-Wood lasted just one season at Headingley, and made just one appearance in a defeat to Catalans Dragons.
He featured in the reserves competition, but injuries hampered his time under Brad Arthur, before he departed the side at the end of last season.
After returning to Australia, he made four appearances for Ipswich in the Queensland Cup, playing alongside former St Helens and Bradford men Moses Mbye and Logan Bayliss-Brow.
However, he has moved on again, and will now form part of Campbelltown Saints’ squad for the upcoming Nines Premier League.
He will line up alongside former Salford fan favourite Tim Lafai at the club, as well as former NRL and NFL man Jarryd Hayne.
Campbelltown won the Nines competition in 2025, before being runners-up in this year’s staging of the event. Last year saw former Super League stars Blake Austin, Sam Kasiano, James Maloney and Matt Moylan feature, as the competition looks to bring in more established ex-NRL pros to help promote the competition.
