5 has released the first look at Forever Home, a new drama that adapts Graham Norton’s second novel and features a cast of familiar faces. The plot follows Carol Crottie, a woman who is concerned about her husband Robert’s worsening dementia and his reluctance to leave the house.
She soon begins to suspect that there may be something suspicious going on, something related to Robert’s first wife Joan, who supposedly ran off with his brother 20 years ago. Is she actually onto something, or just looking for drama where there isn’t any?
The show stars Emmerdale and Beetlejuice Beetlejuice’s Amy Nuttall, Waterloo Road and Loose Women’s Denise Welch, and Shetland’s Douglas Henshall.

There’s also Emmerdale and Strictly Come Dancing’s Lewis Cope, Heartstopper’s Jenny Walser, Auf Wiedersehen, Pet’s Kevin Whately, and Happy Valley and Big Boys’ Shane Zaza.
The first look images feature the main cast sat around a table, as well as Welch’s character Moira Crottie rocking multiple outfits, and Zaza’s character Daniel Evans doing some police work.
A picture of Nuttall’s main character Carole has also been revealed, showing her sitting on the stairs with her arms crossed.
Is it just us, or does that photo make her look quite suspicious?

When the novel was announced for a TV adaptation, Norton said: “In writing Forever Home, I was initially inspired by the simple idea of packing up a home later in life, and the ‘what if’ scenarios and complexities that come with later-life relationships.
“The novel soon evolved into a funny, twisted, ‘dark-romp’ full of farcical scenes and it’s wonderful to see the depth and richness of Carol’s story realized as a screenplay.”
There’s no specific release date for this one yet, other than 5 stating that it “coming soon”.
Forever Home will come to 5, the channel and the streaming service.
