Hull FC will be without Max Wood for this week’s clash against Castleford Tigers as Warrington Wolves have recalled the forward ahead of what is a very busy schedule for Wire.
Wood was in his second loan stint at Hull FC, having first joined the Black and Whites back in June, playing just twice before being recalled.
The 22-year-old prop would then play three games for his parent club, appearing in the win over Catalans Dragons, the Magic Weekend loss to Leigh, and the round 18 defeat to Wigan, however, he then left to re-join Hull FC on loan.
That loan deal was announced as a one-month loan, however, Warrington have recalled their man early ahead of what is set to be a packed schedule for Sam Burgess’ side.
Wire will play York Knights on Thursday night before then playing on Tuesday, 18th against Hull KR in the rearranged clash from round two, back when the Robins were contesting the World Club Challenge.
Warrington will then finish off their gauntlet of games by playing Huddersfield on Sunday the 23rd, meaning they will play three matches in just 11 days, before facing Hull FC six days later on the road.
It could well mean that Wood will not feature again for Hull FC this season though the prop has not been a mainstay in Sam Burgess’ side when available, even joining Oldham on loan earlier in the year.
