Bradford Bulls free up 2027 quota space as statement released to confirm two more impending exits

Bradford Bulls have confirmed that two more players will leave the club at the end of the season, offering an update to their previously published list of departing players.

Late last month, the Bulls shared a statement to announce that seven of their off-contract players would not be offered new contracts for 2027. That in effect confirmed those players’ impending exits, however,two more off-contract players were unaccounted for.

That pair were mid-season signings Phoenix Steinwede and Riley Dean, who joined the Bulls in March and May respectively, and it’s now been confirmed that they will also leave Bradford the end of the year.

Steinwede joined from down under to offer some much-needed punch to the Bradford pack at the height of their injury crisis, however, he himself has suffered with injuries, playing just seven games in total. Interestingly, Steinwede is an overseas player so his exit means that the Bulls will free up a quota space, meaning they will have three free for 2027 and beyond.

As for Dean, who joined from Championship side Oldham to alleviate pressure in the halves, he’s played ten times but has been afforded an exit, making him the third half-back set to depart after previous confirmation of Joe Keyes and Chris Atkin.

A statement from Bradford confirmed the decisions on Steinwede and Dean’s futures, reading: “Bradford Bulls can announce an update to the initial released list communicated to supporters last month.
