Jack Catterall is ready and willing to face WBO welterweight champion Devin Haney in Atlantic City on October 3.
Catterall is the WBA’s regular champion and has been calling for big fights at every opportunity since his commanding victory in Egypt over Shakhram Giyasov.
The 33-2 (14 KOs) Chorley southpaw, trained by former contender Stephen Smith, avenged his first loss, to Josh Taylor, and has won his last three, defeating Harlem Eubank, Ekow Essuman and Giyasov.
He is managed by Sam Jones, who told BoxingScene: “It’s very simple, they said, ‘do you want the fight, to fight Devin Haney on October 3 in Atlantic City, and we said, ‘Absolutely yes, send us an offer and we’ll get it done in 10 seconds,’ And we’re just waiting to hear back.”
