Ahead of tomorrow’s disciplinary verdict, a number of Super League players will be hoping to avoid a charge from the Match Review Panel.
Most of this week’s sweats come from Leigh Leopards, who, in their win over Leeds, had a number of players penalised for incidents of illegality.
The man most fearing a ban is Andy Badrock, who was sin-binned for a hip-drop style tackle on Harry Newman. Post-match, Adrian Lam said the tackle was ‘part of the game’, but he would appear to be in the minority given the reaction to the tackle online.
There were penalties called against Isaac Liu for a shoulder charge in the opening minutes on Kallum Watkins, Joe Ofahengaue, who hit Lachie Miller with a shoulder to the head, but mitigation saved him.
Edwin Ipape hit Brodie Croft late twice, but only one was penalised, whilst Miller was the victim of a late hit by Jack Hughes.
On the same evening, York’s Paul McShane was penalised for dangerous contact on Matty Ashton, whilst Ata Hingano caught Ewan Irwin high, and was also penalised.
Wakefield duo Tyson Smoothy and Jazz Tevaga hit players late, with Tevaga taking out Tristan Sailor and Smoothy attacking the St Helens kicker. The latter was penalised.

In Castleford’s win over Hull FC, Alex Mellor’s knee made contract with the head of Logan Moy, though it appeared accidental with the Tigers man seemingly slipping before making the tackle.
Lastly, Tristan Powell of Huddersfield was shown a yellow card for a high tackle on Tiaki Chan. Taane Milne was also yellow-carded, but that was for a professional foul, so it shouldn’t warrant a charge.
