As exclusively revealed by the Rangers Review, the 19-year-old moves to Ibrox a season after completing his £10million transfer from Southampton to the Premier League club last summer.
Russell Martin didn’t have any left-backs in his squad for Saturday’s Premier Sports Cup win over Alloa. As the Rangers Review reported last week, the club will receive a fee of £6m from Palmerias for Jefte, who is leaving Ibrox a year after joining.

Ridvan Yilmaz is also free to leave the club this summer, with Besiktas his most likely destination. On Friday, academy graduate and fellow left-back Robbie Fraser joined Dunfermline Athletic on a permanent deal.
Meghoma worked with Martin during the Rangers head coach’s spell in charge at Southampton, having signed his first professional deal at St Mary’s in 2022. Previously, the defender had spent time in Tottenham Hotspur’s youth academy.
The England Under-19 international is regarded as a highly-rated prospect, with Thomas Frank, now the Spurs manager, saying upon his arrival at Brentford last summer, “Jayden is an England youth international and one of the biggest left-back talents this country has. We had competition from other clubs, so we are definitely doing something right.”
The left-back spent the second half of last season on loan at Preston and remains under contract at Brentford until 2028. Rangers are still waiting on international clearance for the deal as they try to have Meghoma available for Tuesday’s Champions League play-off first-leg vs Club Brugge.

Martin confirmed the club’s interest in Meghoma speaking after yesterday’s 4-2 win over Alloa.
He said: “We always have been ready [to replace Jefte]. So, Jayden’s a player we know from Southampton. He spent a year with us as a young boy, training every day, understands the work, top talent, played for England at all the youth levels.
“Brentford signed him for a lot of money for a teenager, and he went on loan last year in the Championship, did really well.
“So he’s a player we know and like and hopefully at some point, he’ll be a Rangers player and you’ll you’ll know that when he is.”
Meanwhile, Rangers have pulled out of the deal to sign Real Betis defender Nobel Mendy.
The Rangers Review reported this week that the Senegalese was poised to become the tenth signing of the window for head coach Russell Martin.
But it is understood that Mendy – who saw a switch to PSV Eindhoven fall through earlier this summer – will now not be making the move to Ibrox, leaving the club to keep searching for an additional replacement at centre-back.
