Since the arrival of Trails In The Sky 1st Chapter last year, Nihon Falcom has released multiple updates for the game, enhancing the overall experience across all platforms.
The latest update Version 1.0.7 has now officially arrived, and it’s a “Legacy Patch”. Ahead of the 2nd Chapter’s release this September, this update “aligns key terminology with other entries in the Trails series”.
It also aims to ease the transition between the 1st chapter and the later Trails titles:
“To achieve this, we prioritized updates to English terminology and pronunciations of terms based on how much they impacted continuity across the series.
“We felt this was an important step in our goal to honor the expansive world-building of Trails and make Trails in the Sky 1st Chapter an accessible starting point for the series.”
Here’s the rundown of the Legacy patch, via the official game page:

Adjusted English Terminology
Several major terms have been adjusted to align with terminology used in later titles in the series. Our overall goal with these updates was to align key in-game terminology and pronunciations with other titles in the Trails series. However, with the upcoming release of 2nd Chapter, we also felt it was important to preserve the experience of players who started the series with Trails in the Sky 1st Chapter as much as possible. With that goal in mind, terminology and character names exclusive to the Trails in the Sky games have been largely left unchanged.
A notable exception is the names of the Tetracyclic Towers, as these locations play a pivotal role in the story of 2nd Chapter, and thus have been adjusted to match the original games.
