M6 fire LIVE with long delays as motorway closed after lorry bursts into flames

Traffic is no longer being turned around on the M6, National Highways have said.

In an update following the earlier announcement that traffic was ‘in the process of being turned around’, National Highways said: “Update 3: M6 J18 (Middlewich) & J19 (Knutsford)

“Northbound remains closed due to a HGV fire.

“1 lane is in process of being reopened. Traffic will not be turned around.

“@CheshireFire remain on scene. Delays; 30 mins on approach, 3 miles of congestion. Please plan ahead.”
