Andoni Iraola confirms Curtis Jones to Inter ‘looks likes it’s going to happen’
Liverpool head coach Andoni Iraola has confirmed that Curtis Jones will be heading to Inter Milan.
Jones entered the final year of his Liverpool contract and the Reds have accepted a £35m offer for the midfielder.
“Curtis is a very good player but I understood his situation,” he said. “It looks like it is going to happen.”

Aston Villa ‘reject fourth bid for Ollie Watkins’
Aston Villa have rejected a fourth bid for striker Ollie Watkins from Saudi club Al-Hilal, according to The Telegraph.
Watkins has been identified as Al-Hilal’s top target as they look to replace Karim Benzema and The Telegraph reports that a bid of £45m has been turned down.
Should Watkins join the Villa Park exodus, with Youri Tielemans, Morgan Rogers and Ezri Konsa all moving on, Unai Emery’s side could revive their interest in Chelsea’s Nicolas Jackson.

Ezri Konsa completes Arsenal move – and could make debut against Aston Villa
Ezri Konsa has completed his move from Aston Villa to Arsenal, reports Sky Sports.
Konsa, 28, has signed a four-year contract with the option of an additional 12 months, and he joins in a deal worth £51m.
The England international could make his debut against his old club at Villa Park too, with the Gunners facing Villa on Monday, 31 August.

Barcola was left out of the PSG squad for the French Super Cup last week – with manager Luis Enrique refusing to comment on his future – and the two clubs are still in negotiations, with reports suggesting that this is a deal that could be done before end of the month.

Andoni Iraola makes Liverpool transfer admission with squad ‘still quite thin’
Liverpool manager Andoni Iraola has claimed that the club will “definitely sign some players” before the end of the summer transfer window, with the Spaniard admitting his squad is “still quite thin” in places.
The departures of Mohamed Salah, Ibrahima Konate and Curtis Jones – as well as a long-term injury to Hugo Ekitike – mean that the Reds are light in some key areas as the 2026/27 season begins.
Winger Victor Munoz and defender Ronaldo Araujo have been the only arrivals this summer, though Jeremey Jacquet has also arrived at Anfield after a £55m deal was agreed for the Frenchman back in February.
And Iraola addressed the need for more arrivals before the end of the window, with the former Bournemouth manager explaining that some deals take longer to complete. “We will definitely sign some players. Some deals you have to wait until the end,” Iraola told Sky Sports.
“But the end is the important picture, the one we will have on September 1, because it is true that we are still quite thin,” added the Spaniard.

Fabian Hurzeler confirms Man Utd target Carlos Baleba will not play this weekend
Manchester United have made a £60m bid for Carlos Baleba and the Brighton midfielder will not be involved in their opening game of the season against Aston Villa on Sunday, Fabian Hurzeler has confirmed.
“Carlos Baleba is a Brighton player. I’ll never comment on rumours which are in the media, I can’t control – a lot of things are written,” said Hurzeler when asked about the future of his midfielder.
The German said that the only reason he will not be involved against Aston Villa is because “he’s not fit”.
“I know about the situation but I have a very important game with my staff and team in two games. That’s my only focus at the moment,” added Hurzeler.
