And…you came for something rare? Its arrival also sees KATSEYE become the first girl group since Little Mix in 2021 to secure five UK Top 40 singles in a single calendar year.
Internet Girl kicked off their 2026 run in January (24), followed by PINKY UP in April (14) and ICONIC BY MISTAKE with LE SSERAFIM and ILLIT in June (22), before Animal and Hootie Frutti joined the tally this month.
Five years ago, Little Mix achieved the feat with Nathan Dawe collaboration No Time For Tears (19), Galantis and David Guetta team-up Heartbreak Anthem (3), Anne-Marie collaboration Kiss My (Uh Oh) (10), Love (Sweet Love) (33) and No (35). One for the chart nerds: No Time For Tears first entered the Official Singles Chart outside the Top 40 in December 2020, before breaking into the Top 40 in January 2021.
In all, KATSEYE now boast eight Official Singles Chart entries, with 2025 breakthrough tracks Gnarly (52) and Gabriela (38), plus fan favourite Touch (82), completing their chart story so far.
And KATSEYE aren’t done there. Animal claws its way four places up the Official Singles Chart to a new Number 12 peak, earning the group their highest-charting UK single to date.
It comes just weeks before THE WILDWORLD TOUR reaches the UK, with two nights at London’s The O2 on September 3 and 4, followed by Manchester’s Co-op Live on September 6.

Another week at the top! Sam Fender and Olivia Dean’s Rein Me In reigns on, extending its record as the longest-running UK Number 1 single of all time to an unprecedented 22 non-consecutive weeks. The smash made history earlier this month when it surpassed the 18-week benchmark set by Frankie Laine’s I Believe back in 1953.
Elsewhere in the Top 10, two tracks reach new highs. As she releases debut album Long Way Home, STELLA LEFTY takes breakout hit Boston four places higher to a new personal best at Number 5, while Sheffield DJ Silva Bumpa’s summer smash On 2nite rises one to a career-best Number 9.
Scaling the Singles Chart like Spidey himself, two tracks score new peaks this week thanks to their inclusion in Spider-Man: Brand New Day. Tame Impala’s Loser climbs three to Number 11, while further down Steve Lacy’s oh yeah? swings into the Top 20 for the first time, rising five to Number 18.
Elsewhere, a host of rising hits continue to gather momentum. Malcolm Todd’s Earrings reaches a new high at Number 14, while Alyssa Grace’s bloodstream extends its impressive ascent to a career-best Number 17.
sombr scores a fresh peak as My Body Isn’t Ready rises to Number 22, Audrey Hobert’s Sue me climbs to Number 26, while Noah Kahan’s Orbiter lifts to a new best at Number 32, boosted by a viral TikTok trend.
Finally, as Phoebe Bridgers celebrates her first-ever solo Number 1 album with Lost Weekend, its title track earns her a new Singles Chart milestone too. Lost Weekend debuts at Number 39, becoming her highest-charting UK single to date and first Top 40 hit.
