The event will take place from September 22 to 24, 2027, at the Caerlee Mill Bike Campus and Trail Lab in Innerleithen.
Bike Innovation Scotland is a partnership between Edinburgh Napier University and South of Scotland Enterprise.
The event will bring together mountain biking leaders, trail builders, tourism professionals, academics, land managers and industry representatives from across Europe.
It will be held at the site of the new Mountain Bike Innovation Centre, which is currently being developed at Caerlee Mill.
Earlier this year, the Borderlands Partnership Board approved £15.5 million of UK Government funding through the Borderlands Inclusive Growth Deal for the centre and trail lab.
The campus is expected to create more than 225 jobs and generate £86m in Gross Value Added for the South of Scotland over 10 years.
Professor Gary Hutchison, vice principal for regional innovation and external affairs at Edinburgh Napier University, said it was “a real privilege” to host an event of the summit’s scale.
He said: “The new Caerlee Mill Bike Campus in Innerleithen, with its world-leading facilities and celebrated trails, will provide the perfect setting for those who are shaping the future of this sector.
“This also offers the ideal opportunity for us to showcase and develop Edinburgh Napier’s strong track record in mountain bike research and innovation.”
South of Scotland Enterprise chair Russel Griggs said 2027 would be “a hugely exciting year for cycling” in the region, with the planned opening of the centre and the Tour de France Grand Départ also coming to the Borders.
The first stage of the 2027 Tour de France is due to pass through the Scottish Borders on July 2.
