Bret Michaels says his body may be forcing him to slow down … but his mind is still very much onstage.

The Poison frontman gave fans a fresh health update Sunday after canceling the rest of his 2026 tour … saying he’s been working closely with doctors and physical therapists following his attempted comeback Friday in Sugar Hill, Georgia.

Bret says he thought he could power through his recent health issues … but admits he didn’t fully account for the Atlanta heat, a coast-to-coast flight and new medication adjustments.

He is a Type 1 diabetic and says all of that took a toll on his blood sugar and blood pressure … and now his doctors are tweaking his meds and insulin.

Still, Bret says he’s itching to get back out there … writing, “If I could, I would be back out there tomorrow.”

Bret’s team announced Saturday he was canceling the rest of his 2026 shows after doctors and paramedics checked him out following Friday night’s concert … determining he needed more time to recover from recent surgeries.

Bret says he was especially crushed to miss Tennessee’s Mountain Music Festival … but vowed to return in 2027 or 2028.

For now … he’s hoping this latest setback is temporary.
