Handcuffed: Last Pair Standing will return for a second season on Channel 4, with Jonathan Ross back at the helm of the social experiment.
The reality series launched earlier this year, and sees pairs of strangers with completely opposed opinions, beliefs, lifestyles and bad habits handcuffed together 24/7 in the ultimate test of survival.
The first season was a huge streaming success for Channel 4, with over 2 million views of episode 1 alone. It performed particularly well with 16-34 audiences, with episode 1 reaching a young share of 24.3 per cent.
Channel 4 commissioning editor Tim Hancock said: “Part of Channel 4’s job is to reflect every corner of Britain, and not just the loudest or most comfortable parts.
“Handcuffed does that better than almost anything else on our slate, and its return is a vote of confidence in formats built on genuine difference.”
Season 1 was won by adult content creator Rob and practical homemaker Charlie, who took home a collective £100,000.

The premise is simple: Cope with being chained to each other 24/7, doing everything just inches apart. Should you uncuff, you’ll be out of the competition.
“I think it was really important for us, when we started this, that it was a genuine experiment,” executive producer Tom Clarke told Radio Times and other press ahead of the series launch.
“And what that meant was people had to be handcuffed the whole time. So it couldn’t be 12 hours on, 12 hours off. It had to be something they did while they were eating, whilst they were sleeping, whilst they were showering. It was something we stuck to rigidly.”
On the recommission, Clarke commented: “The first series of Handcuffed got the nation talking, especially in demographics we’re often told have left TV behind.
“We’re thrilled viewers enjoyed the high-octane thrills and spills of the competition, along with the oodles of heart our pairs delivered as they really got to know each other.”
Handcuffed: Last Pair Standing is available to watch on catch-up on Channel 4.
