Located opposite the tube station and nestled between Superdrug and Marks & Spencer, Dorrell Place is a short pedestrianised strip which has become a thriving outdoor gallery for street artists in recent years.
Artworks rarely last long, as artists compete for wall space.
Dorrell Place also serves as a vast parking spot for hire bikes.
London Beer Lab supported Brixton Buzz back in the day when we launched our range of beers that raised funds for the Brixton Soup Kitchen.
Sometimes bikes are left strewn all over the pavement.
Marks & Spencer has some ‘official’ artwork on its wall.
This is the sad sight of the former SW9 Bar at the far end of Dorrell Place.
Once a thriving LGTBQ-friendly bar, they were forced to close down in December 2019 for a hotel scheme that still hasn’t started – leaving the place slowly rotting away when it could have stayed open.
