Police officers who are investigating a fatal collision on the A38 in Brent Knoll on Saturday (29th August) are appealing for witnesses to come forward.
Police say they were called by the ambulance service at 5.20am to the collision involving a pedestrian and a white Vauxhall Astra.
A spokesman adds: “Despite the best efforts of emergency services, the pedestrian, a man in his 40s, died at the scene. His family have been informed and our thoughts are with them.”
“The driver of the car remained at the scene and has assisted officers with their enquiries.”
“The A38 was closed between the Fox and Goose pub and the B3140 roundabout while the scene investigation was completed.”
“Anyone who witnessed the collision or who has any information which could help our investigation should call 101 using the reference number 5226248501.”
The A38 re-opened at 12.50pm after being closed through the morning.
