The Super League disciplinary verdict after round 25 of the competition is in with a total of eight players charged, and that includes bans for four players.
It was yet another action-packed round with the standout game on paper being St Helens versus Leeds Rhinos, however, Brad Arthur’s side took control as they punished errors and ill-discipline from the hosts.
That ill-discipline has now been punished with prop Daniel Suluka-Fifita being banned after copping a Grade C charge for a strike, something that has taken him past the threshold for a one-match ban.
Suluka-Fifita is one of four Super League players to be banned with the other three being Super League debutant Daniel Sarbah, Hull FC’s Joe Batchelor and Warrington Wolves’ Sam Powell.
Interestingly, there is no charge for Hull FC forward Ligi Sao, who was sent to the sin bin for his high shot on Matty Ashton in an incident that saw video referee James Vella advise on-field referee Chris Kendall to show a red card.
Sarbah, who was making his senior debut for Castleford, copped a Grade B charge but his prior penalty points in the reserve games saw him land a ban. That charge was for head contact, the same thing that Joe Batchelor was charged with, however, the Hull FC man was handed a Grade D charge.
Batchelor was sin binned just 22 seconds into the game for his tackle that cause Arron Lindop to fail a HIA, and that’s seen Batchelor handed a 15-point charge, worthy of a two-match ban. Also banned from that game was Wire hooker Sam Powell, handed a Grade C charge for dangerous contact which has earned him a one-match ban.

The disciplinary verdict also took in the reserve game between Castleford Tigers and Hull KR with Max Grinhaff fined from that one, whilst Sheffield Eagles’ Alex Foster was handed a three-game ban after his kicking charge in the mid-week win over Widnes Vikings last week.
