It was always going to be difficult for Arsenal to improve the side that won the Premier League and reached the Champions League final, but if the Gunners don’t bring in a forward supporters will be disappointed.

As the Gunners showed in their 1-0 win over Aston Villa last night in the Premier League, they have one of the best squads in Europe but there are still question marks over their attack.

Bukayo Saka looks like he is getting back to his best after injury issues last season and has scored in the first two league games this season.

But it is the centre forward and left wing positions where questions remain.

Viktro Gyokeres scored 21 goals in all competitions but sometimes looks as though he doesn’t fit the Arsenal style of play, while Kai Havertz although technically gifted is not a natural finisher.

Arsenal have pursued Julian Alvarez and also Vinicius Jr but at this stage of the window it looks like they are going to be unsuccessful in their search for a game-changing forward.
