JUNHEE will represent Republic of Korea at Eurovision Song Contest Asia
We had all eyes on the Republic of Korea on Friday 04 September as the country held its first-ever National Selection Show to find the entry for its debut Eurovision Asia outing.
Eight songs were presented in Korea’s Next Wave, competing for the audience’s vote which was open to the whole world. And the whole world has spoken!… JUNHEE will represent the nation in Bangkok with his song DEEP DIVE.
K-Pop megastar Jo Kwon hosted the inaugural edition of Korea’s Next Wave, which was put together by broadcaster ENA.
On the night, points were awarded via three sources. A professional jury accounted for 40% of the final result, while viewers voting at home in the Republic of Korea contributed another 40%. The remaining 20% came from a Rest of the World vote.
Below JUNHEE’s DEEP DIVE on the scoreboard was EHERADIYA, performed by Sojeong Shim, in second place. Finishing in third was Nan Naya ! by the duo Angel Noise.
If you missed the live broadcast, you can catch up on the show via the Eurovision Song Contest YouTube channel, where all National Selection Shows for Eurovision Song Contest Asia are being streamed.
