With a Grand Depart from the capital of Italy’s Piedmont region and a finale in the capital of Spain, Movistar Team unveils the squad set to take on the 21 stages and 3,180 kilometers of the 80th edition of La Vuelta a España.
The route will travel through Italy, France, Andorra and Spain, and includes 2 time trials (team and individual), 4 flat stages (1 with an uphill finish), 3 hilly stages ending uphill, 6 medium-mountain stages, and 5 high-mountain stages finishing at Pal, Cerler, l’Angliru, La Farrapona, and Bola del Mundo.
Movistar Team lines up with a solid and well-balanced roster, aiming to play a key role throughout the race.
In 2025, Arcas will make his sixth appearance in the Spanish Grand Tour, making him the team’s most experienced rider. Canal, Cepeda and Cortina will each start their fourth edition. Aular, Castrillo and Romo return for their second participation, while Hessmann will make his debut in La Vuelta.
The teams will be officially presented in Torino next Thursday, with La Vuelta 2025 kicking off on Saturday.
