This Australian romantic dramedy is exactly what you want to come home to after a long day and, happily, it’s returning for a third series. If you’re new to it, Ashley (Harriet Dyer) and Gordon (Patrick Brammall) are a medical student and microbrewery owner who are brought together by a car accident and an injured dog. Series 3 will pick up three years on from Gordon’s failed proposal – and there’s a lot more trouble in paradise. Series 3 is arriving on BBC Two and BBC iPlayer at 10pm on Monday 7th September.

Love a Harlan Coben thriller? This new mystery series is even better. Ian Ridley (Patrick Brammall) is a former police detective in Victoria, Australia, whose life was shattered when his young daughter, Maggie, vanished 11 years earlier. Now, Ian works as a police dispatcher and the only thing that keeps him going is the belief she could still be alive. So, when he receives a distress call from a teenage girl, he becomes convinced it’s her and embarks on a relentless search for answers. Arriving on Apple TV on Wednesday 9th September.

If you’re a fan of Big Little Lies, we have a feeling you’ll enjoy The Perfect Lie. The Dutch drama, based on the bestselling novel The Dinner Club by Saskia Noort, introduces us to Karen and her family, who have just moved to the mountainous city of Bergen in Norway. They’re quickly welcomed into the community’s elite dinner club – a seductive group of friends who fully indulge in an extravagant and hedonistic lifestyle. But when one of the luxurious villas goes up in flames, and one of them is killed, it quickly becomes clear that nothing is as it seems. Arriving on Netflix on Thursday 10th September.

Five years after the ASK Agency closed its doors, the series that satirised the showbiz industry is back… in film form. Andréa (Camille Cottin) is now a film director, but her first movie is in chaos (think on-set drama and legal battles). So what does she do? Reunite the old gang for one last hurrah, of course – but as each arrives with their own role, they also come with an ego and their fair share of old grudges. Arriving on Netflix on Thursday 10th September.
The Paper

If you need a good laugh, you’ll find it in series 2 of The Paper. The spin-off to the American version of The Office sees a documentary crew searching for a new subject, which they just happen to find when they discover a historic Midwestern newspaper – The Truth Teller – that needs reviving. Domnhall Gleeson leads the cast as the new editor-in-chief Ned Sampson, who returns for the second instalment. This time round, he’s searching for a journalistic crusade and attempting to figure out a matter of the heart. Series 2 is arriving on Sky and NOW on Thursday 10th September.
The Rainmaker

This adaptation of John Grisham’s bestselling legal thriller follows newly qualified lawyer Rudy Baylor (Milo Callaghan) who enters the legal world full of wide-eyed optimism – only to realise he’s in for a difficult ride. Having been fired by the unscrupulous and powerful Leo Drummond (John Slattery), he lands at an underdog firm with the hope of starting afresh – until a deeply buried conspiracy means he must go head-to-head with his old boss. A brilliantly twisty must-watch. Airing on ITV1 at 9pm on Friday 11th September.
