Your support helps us to tell the story

From reproductive rights to climate change to Big Tech, The Independent is on the ground when the story is developing. Whether it’s investigating the financials of Elon Musk’s pro-Trump PAC or producing our latest documentary, ‘The A Word’, which shines a light on the American women fighting for reproductive rights, we know how important it is to parse out the facts from the messaging.

At such a critical moment in US history, we need reporters on the ground. Your donation allows us to keep sending journalists to speak to both sides of the story.

The Independent is trusted by Americans across the entire political spectrum. And unlike many other quality news outlets, we choose not to lock Americans out of our reporting and analysis with paywalls. We believe quality journalism should be available to everyone, paid for by those who can afford it.

Irish broadcaster Vogue Williams has disclosed the name of her fourth child with former Made in Chelsea star Spencer Matthews.

The 40-year-old shared an Instagram picture of the baby in a blue knitted jumper and white hat, revealing he has been named Remy Valentine Matthews.

She also shared photos of the couple’s three other children – sons Theodore and Otto, and daughter Gigi – posing alongside their new sibling.

Singer and former The Celebrity Traitors contestant Paloma Faith was among those responding to the post, writing: “Love the name Remy.”

Williams originally announced the arrival on Tuesday, posting images on Instagram of her and Matthews holding the newborn in a knitted red and white hat, as well as introducing him to his brothers and sister.

In the caption, she wrote: “Our beautiful baby boy has arrived safely… The house is bursting with excitement, love and happiness and we couldn’t be more delighted.”

Former This Morning presenter Holly Willoughby also congratulated the couple, replying: “Well done Vogue… super mamma.”

The parents had chosen to keep the baby’s gender a secret until a few weeks before the birth.

In May, Matthews told the Press Association that Theodore, Otto and Gigi “can’t wait for the baby to come”.

Speaking prior to running all six routes up Mount Snowdon in North Wales within 24 hours, he described the children: “They’re like a little pack of wolves together. You know, they look after each other, they play with each other.”

The pregnancy was announced in April with a photo of the couple pushing their stomachs together in beach attire to reveal Williams’ bump.

They married in June 2018, having met the year before while filming Channel 4 series The Jump.

Williams joined last year’s ITV reality show I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! as a late contestant alongside Tom Read Wilson, in a series ultimately won by YouTuber Angryginge. She also won Celebrity Gladiators, defeating boxing star Nicola Adams.

Matthews launched his podcast Untapped, exploring human potential, after completing endurance challenges including 30 marathons in 30 days across the Jordanian desert in 2024.
