The BBC’s new adaptation of Agatha Christie’s Hercule Poirot series has started filming as a host of stars has joined protagonist Edward Bluemel, including Run Away’s James Nesbitt.
Nesbitt has been spotted on set of series Hercule in pictures obtained by Digital Spy, though details of the role he’s playing remain thin on the ground at this stage.
The actor has been photographed in a black top hat and matching frock coat and suit, accessorised with a silver tie. The unnamed character has a stern composure as Nesbitt rocks a thick, grey moustache for the role.

In another snap, the star stands next to Rebecca Rittenhouse, who sports a copper, wavy bob and wears a cream and black dress with a white fur coat. Behind them is The Buccaneers’ Guy Remmers, who’s also part of the cast of Hercule.
Other confirmed stars set to appear in the series on the famed Belgian detective are Henry Ashton, James D’Arcy, Calvin Demba, Phil Dunning, Jack Gleeson, Tamsin Greig, and Mawaan Rizwan.
Meanwhile, the BBC recently shared a first-look image as Bluemel in the role of Poirot, previously played by legendary actor David Suchet in 13 seasons of ITV’s Agatha Christie’s Poirot.
The shot sees Bluemel, who’s no stranger to Christie’s adaptations after starring in Netflix’s Agatha Christie’s Seven Dials earlier this year, pose as Poirot in a taupe suit with matching Homburg hat. The actor also dons the sleuth’s iconic moustache as he looks intensely into the camera.

Last month, Bluemel teased his debut as Poirot on Instagram, where he reposted the first-look snap.
“If Hercule Poirot looks at you like this you may well be going to jail, sorry,” he joked, adding that Hercule would air sometime “next year”.
Hercule has no release date.
