Beyond Paradise star Jamie Bamber has spoken about his future on the show after landing a role in EastEnders. The actor recently arrived in Walford as Ned, the husband of Nicola Mitchell’s sister Gemma, and he’s already caused quite a stir on Albert Square.
But after appearing as Archie Hughes in the Death in Paradise spin-off since its debut, fans are worried that we won’t be seeing any more of him in Shipton Abbott.

Speaking exclusively to Digital Spy on the red carpet of the National Television Awards, Bamber revealed that he’d been filming for Beyond Paradise “just a couple of weeks ago.”
“EastEnders have been amazing, so I’ve managed to do both, which is super lovely and I didn’t expect it to happen that way, necessarily.”
The actor also dropped some big hints about the future for his character and DS Esther Williams (played by Zahra Ahmadi), saying they might be going “somewhere other than Devon and Cornwall”.
With talk of a crossover episode between Beyond Paradise and Return to Paradise gaining steam during season four’s airing earlier this year, Bamber could be on to something big.

Asked if we might see him in Australia’s Dolphin Cove, Bamber teased: “[Archie’s] a wine grower, he’s a vineyard guy. I can see him there, there’s wine in Australia.”
As for whether we can expect more of him in the next season of the ITV series, Bamber said: “As an actor, you never know. But I’m working with Zahra (Ahmadi). She’s amazing and we’ll see how the relationship goes.”
