A new mini-golf venue is opening in Cardiff this autumn. Stadium Plaza, which was the home of Vue Cinema for decades, will welcome Scrapyard Golf.
The new attraction will sit beside the current Discobowl venue and Laser Quest. There’s also a brand new Korean BBQ opened on the location, Daiu, which was previously located in Cardiff Bay.
Scrapyard Golf is described as “mini golf with a twist” and players will “step into a wild world of scrapyard surprises, quirky obstacles and imaginative course design.
“Every hole is packed with character, creativity and challenges that will put your putting skills to the test.”

The news comes more than a month after Vue closed its cinema at Stadium Plaza. The major cinema chain had enjoyed a presence in the city centre since 2005.
Scrapyard Golf will be the latest in a long line of sports and activity attractions opening in Cardiff city centre.
Most recently, golf bar Par59 has been replaced by bowling bar Lane7, which describes itself as a “boutique bowling alley”, while over at St David’s Shopping Centre, Hollywood Bowl XL opened earlier in 2026 with electric go-karting, interactive darts and ‘state-of-the-art’ lanes.
Brains Brewery have also jumped in on the interactive games action with their new city centre bar The Old Brewery.
Found on a site with a special connection to Brains, it’s where the famous beer brand was based for more than 100 years.
The Old Brewery has a selection of interactive sporting games which customers can take advantage.
It will see them become a part of some of Cardiff’s greatest sporting moments, testing their kicking skills to make that match winning penalty kick or that all important conversion, while also experiencing the anticipation and exhilaration of matchday moments.
