Northumbria Police confirmed that four arrests have been made on suspicion of assault at the Misfits boxing event in Newcastle on Saturday night. The police said that there had been no serious injuries.
The Misfits boxing fight night took place at the Utilita Arena and featured fighters including the so-called Ibiza Final Boss, Jack Kay. However, videos have circulated showing what appear to be fights in the bar area.
On Sunday, Northumbria Police confirmed officers had attended. A spokesperson said: “We are aware of videos circulating online in relation to disturbances involving a number of people in attendance at a boxing event in Newcastle city centre yesterday.
“Officers attended and arrested four individuals on suspicion of assault, with no serious injuries reported to us. We want to make it clear that behaviour of this kind will not be tolerated.
” The safety of the public is our utmost priority and enquiries are ongoing to identify all of those involved. Anyone with information should contact us online via direct message on social media or submit a report form on our website.”
