Dereham Gold Club is set to open a new restaurant for members and the wider public.
The Fairway restaurant will open to non-members, offering breakfast, lunch and dinner from October.

It will initially provide 30 spaces, with more places available if needed.
The club has previously provided in-house dining for members, but the new arrangement will make all three meals available to the public.

David Whitehair, formerly chef at the Beeston Ploughshare pub, has started work to prepare the menu.
Mr Whitehair, widely known as Scooby, was recommended by the partner of a golf club member. The club said he was taken on straight away after a meeting.

A club spokesman said: “We are delighted to recruit the services of David as our new caterer for Dereham Golf Club.
“We are looking forward to seeing the dining experience move to the next level.”
As a self-employed caterer, Mr Whitehair will employ people to work at the restaurant, with the number of positions not yet confirmed.
He said: “I am excited about the new challenge. It is bringing something new to the golf club, I am really looking forward to seeing how it goes.
“I have been working in the area for about 30 years, so I know a lot of people who are looking forward to come and visit.”

An opening event is planned for Saturday, October 17. However, it will be invitation-only, with bookings being handled by the chef.
Members as well as the public will be able to visit the restaurant once it fully opens.
