Despite finishing at the foot of the Super League table in 2026, Bradford Bulls still have plenty to celebrate with the club announcing that they have secured fresh investment.

The Bulls confirmed the news on Thursday, just hours before their defeat on the road to York Knights, with that defeat officially confirming that Bradford would finish bottom.

Even if the Bulls had managed to beat York, Hull FC’s shock win over Leeds Rhinos would have still ensured that Bradford were left propping up the table, albeit on level points as opposed to two points adrift.

The club have already made significant moves for 2027 with a host of signings announced as well as their trip to Las Vegas, but they’ve now confirmed new investment with Andrew Calvert joining the existing ownership group.

That was confirmed in a statement from club CEO Jason Hirst, who said: “On behalf of Bradford Bulls, I am delighted to announce that the club has added to its’ shareholding group, with life-long fan, Andrew Calvert joining the existing ownership group. ”

It’s unclear how much investment Calvert has brought to the club but it’s positive news after the clubs first season back in Super League in over a decade.

Bradford Bulls confirm permanent deal for loan forward

More positive news is that loanee Jack Ormondroyd has signed a permanent deal at the club, penning a one-year contract that keeps him at Odsal for 2027.

Ormondroyd joined the club from Championship side Oldham in March but he had an injury-hit season, as many did at Bradford, though he’s now confirmed to be going around again.

The 34-year-old made nine appearances in 2026 but he’ll add yet more experience to a 2027 pack that includes new recruits Ligi Sao, James Bentley, John Bateman and Sam Eseh.

Speaking about signing Ormondroyd to a permanent deal, head coach Kurt Haggerty said: “Jack started to find his feet before he got injured and he showed he can still play at this level.

“He is a senior player who knows what this level looks like, he is an incredible athlete who has played over 100 Super League games having rarely been injured.

“He knows what I expect so he is perfect to keep around for another 12 months.”
