Only the U.S. and Canada offer lower prices outside Asia, at $1,199 and $1,330, while the UAE rounds out the global top five at $1,388.
Malaysia, which ranks third in Southeast Asia by nominal GDP per capita behind Singapore and Brunei, holds the same position for the 18 Pro Max. Its 256GB version costs $1,474, behind the U.S. at $1,299, Canada at $1,444 and Hong Kong at $1,466, but ahead of the UAE at $1,497.
Malaysia ranks fifth globally for Duo prices, with the 256GB version of Apple’s first foldable smartphone at $2,334, behind Hong Kong, Canada and the UAE. The U.S. again tops the ranking for affordability at $2,199.
The prices come from Japanese comparison site Nukeni, which compares Apple Store prices across 37 countries and territories after converting them using exchange rates.

Apple unveiled the 18 Pro, 18 Pro Max and Duo in the U.S. on Sept. 9.
Following the launch, Apple quietly raised prices for the Air, 17 and 17e in Malaysia, with most variants increasing by RM300 (US$74), according to Malay Mail.
The largest increase was for the 1TB Air, which now costs RM8,299, up RM1,300 from its launch price.
Pre-orders for the new Pro models opened in Malaysia on Sept. 12, with sales beginning Sept. 18, while the Duo will go on sale on Oct. 23.
