According to a new rumor, Avengers: Secret Wars is set to bring back several characters from the MCU who fans previously thought wouldn’t be around anymore.

How is it rumored that dead MCU characters will be brought back?

In a recent Q&A session on The Cosmic Circus, insider Alex Perez was asked about the 2027 film and what the plans were for after the film came out. Perez noted that there will be “previously dead heroes and villains” that get brought back in the movie, thanks in part to how the film handles its multiversal setting.”

In a different question about how Marvel Studios plans to handle which universes of the multiverse would be included, Perez explained that the original plan Marvel Studios had when they were still working on The Kang Dynasty included a surprising twist.

“Back when Avengers 5 was still The Kang Dynasty, one of the big twists was how the Earth we have seen in these films and shows was not Earth-616, but rather a version of Earth-616 cultivated by He Who Remains that removed many heroes from what was ORIGINALLY Earth-616,” said Perez.

The new Earth, which Perez said would have been called “Earth Prime,” would have explained why several characters like The Fantastic Four, Charles Xavier, and Magneto were around, but never the heroes they were meant to be.

Perez went on to say that, in the reset planned for Secret Wars, the movie would have seen the universes come together to become the “Earth” that most comic fans know as the one that houses all of its heroes.

Avengers: Secret Wars is currently slated to release on December 17, 2027.
