Born in Reigate, Surrey, on July 11, 1960, Caroline Quentin trained at the Arts Educational School in Hertfordshire before pursuing a career in acting. She has worked extensively across television, radio and theatre over more than four decades in the entertainment industry.
Fans will best recall her work alongside Harry Enfield, Martin Clunes and Neil Morrissey in Men Behaving Badly, but now she is embracing life in the West Country and has often spoken about her love of the countryside.
In a recent interview on ITV’s Lorraine, Caroline spoke about her life since moving to Somerset from Devon in an interview.

Speaking to TV presenter Lorraine Kelly whilst promoting her new nature book ‘Drawn to Nature’, which came out two years after her first book ‘Drawn to the Garden’, Caroline said, “It’s [her new book] a sort of part of my life journey with nature, but I do talk about specifics in television and film in it. I had to [draw a pheasant for the book] because in Somerset we are absolutely surrounded by them!”
Caroline has revealed that, despite living in a large property with an orchard, her husband Sam Farmer “really struggled” when their children moved out of their childhood home.
“Because Sam spent a lot of time with the children when they were younger, he really struggled when they left, so we downsized.
“We had a small holding with lots of land and an orchard and it became a sort of tyranny, really, to look after it and keep it going and we spent less time together.
“We now live in a small bungalow, but my landlord/lady allows me to do the garden there, so I am doing the garden up, which I love.”
Caroline mentions that she still manages to “get out there” and enjoy her hobbies, including birdwatching in the countryside.
She later added that she is “still friends” with Strictly Come Dancing star and professional dancer, Johannes Radabe, who she was paired with for the show in 2020.
“I got the best dancer!” said Caroline when speaking about her time on Strictly. “We are still friends and I love him so dearly; he is a wonderful man, and we are still in touch with him.”
