Linda Noskova speaking in her on-court interview: “The first match is never easy no matter what. I was surprised by the way I played, especially in the first set.
“The second set was a lot tougher, Katie served very well and didn’t give me many chances. I had to use what I had in the the tie-break and I’m very happy.
“It feels still the same [to represent my country as a Grand Slam champion]. Representing my country will never feel any different, or at least I hope.
“It is always a really big privilege for me to play and represent my country.”
