Fans have been speaking to BBC Radio 5 Live about Manchester City being found guilty of the majority of the 115 financial charges brought by the Premier League.
Mark, a Manchester United fan: Let’s have some sympathy for City fans, because this is bad for football, isn’t it? Obviously City fans have potentially been cheated, almost regardless of what the outcome is. And you assume there will be some kind of punishment. So, aside from any tribal stuff, no one’s really going to win out of this.
There might be kind of legal action by different clubs. Part of you hopes that doesn’t happen, because at the end of the day it’s meant to be about football, isn’t it? 90 minutes on a Saturday afternoon or on a Monday night.
John, a Manchester City season ticket holder: I was in Istanbul [for the 2023 Champions League final, won by Man City], that will never be taken away from me what I experienced that day, the build up to the game and the game, and the day after, and everything that went along with it.
City won the Champions League, I was there, I was quite fortunate to be there. And that will never be taken away from me, regardless of what’s been decided in the court or elsewhere along with the Premier League.
