Lamine Yamal is in the spotlight after he celebrated his 18th birthday party with a lavish party and allegedly hired professional dwarves as entertainment.
The Spanish government is set to investigate, following a complaint by The Association of People with Achondroplasia and Other Skeletal Dysplasias with Dwarfism.
However, Yamal has now been defended by one of the entertainers at the party who has spoken to RAC1 and offered his version of events.
The artist, who asked to remain anonymous said: “No one disrespected us, let us work in peace.
“I don’t understand why there’s so much hype. We’re normal people, who do what we want, in an absolutely legal way.
“For a couple of years now these people have been harming us, they want to ban a job that we like, and in no case have they offered jobs or courses to the affected people. We work as entertainers. Why can’t we do it? Because of our physical condition?
“We know what our limit is and we will never exceed it: we are not fairground monkeys.”
The entertainer also spoke about what the job had entailed at Yamal’s party.
“We dance, we distribute drinks, we do magic … there are many types of shows,” he added and went on to explain that after working for an hour they were allowed to join the party. “We were one more, everyone had a great time. All this mess was formed just because it was Lamine Yamal’s party.”
