A PHOTOGRAPHER is looking for 40 women over the age of 40 for a new portrait project she is running.
Marie Myers, who runs Beautiful Boudoir Photography and is a former Bromsgrove, Redditch and Droitwich Standard snapper, has launched the scheme to celebrate women – as they are right now.

It also strives to help women over 40 ‘feel seen’.

Each woman will also be invited to share a little of her story to go with their portrait photograph.

Marie said: “It doesn’t need to be anything huge or life-changing – it could be about menopause, divorce, motherhood, changing bodies, starting again, finding confidence, or simply reaching a stage of life where she feels happy with the woman she has become.”

Each participant will receive a free 30-minute boudoir-style portrait session at Marie’s studio at Tardebigge Court, Tardebigge, including a 10inch by 8inch mounted print.

The sessions will be boudoir style but, Marie stressed, do not have to be naked or particularly revealing.

Participants can wear a bodysuit, lingerie, a cover-up or whatever they feel comfortable and confident wearing.

Once all 40 women have been photographed, their portraits and stories will be brought together for a THIS IS ME exhibition at the studio, celebrating all 40 women.

Marie added: “Women spend years being someone’s mum, partner, daughter, colleague or carer, and this project is about putting the woman herself back in the picture.

“I want to photograph 40 real local women exactly as they are now and show that there isn’t one way to look or feel over 40.

“You don’t need an extraordinary story to take part – you just need to be you.”
