Ahead of his huge clash against Canelo Alvarez, Terence Crawford has named who he thinks is the greatest boxer of all time.
On September 13, Canelo Alvarez and Terence Crawford are set to clash for the undisputed super middleweight title on TKO Boxing‘s inaugural event.
Ahead of what is one of the biggest boxing fights in recent memory, anticipation is building and when the two faced off for the first time at the pre-fight press conference recently, Dana White had to step in to stop them clashing.
Both Canelo and Crawford are widely regarded as two of the best active pound-for-pound boxers on the planet, and will both be looking to continue their already incredible legacies.

‘Bud’ Crawford still dons an undefeated record, which is something Canelo doesn’t have, having suffered two losses in his career.
Canelo’s first loss came against Floyd Mayweather, who utterly schooled the Mexican when they clashed in 2013 in a light middleweight title fight.
And ahead of his fight against Canelo, Crawford has named ‘Money’ Mayweather as his greatest boxer of all time, telling Seconds Out: “In my opinion, the best boxer in history is Floyd Mayweather. His punches were powerful, and he managed to defeat virtually all of his opponents in professional boxing.”
Mayweather has also been extremely complimentary of Crawford in the past and ahead of his fight against Canelo, Mayweather named Crawford the current pound-for-pound number one.
Crawford could equal Floyd Mayweather’s boxing record with win over Canelo
Crawford is going into the fight as an underdog, considering the big size difference between him and his Mexican opponent.
However, if ‘Bud’ is able to complete the huge task of handing Canelo his third career loss, he will equal Mayweather’s record of becoming a five-weight world champion.
If he does complete the feat, Crawford believes it would be enough to rank him in the top five of the greatest fighters of all time, alongside some big names in the sport.
