Digital asset investment platform Eaglebrook launched direct indexing for digital assets through its SMA infrastructure.
Financial advisors using the Eaglebrook SMA platform can now access the S&P Cryptocurrency Top 10 Equal Weight Index and implement institutional-grade digital asset indices directly within client accounts. The index tracks the performance of the 10 largest cryptocurrencies by market capitalization within the S&P Cryptocurrency Broad Digital Market Index. Each constituent cryptocurrency is given equal weighting.
“Our rollout of direct indexing for digital assets speaks to the tremendous demand we have seen across wealth managers who are looking for greater tax alpha and diversification for their clients holding digital assets,” said Christopher King, founder and CEO of Eaglebrook, in a statement. “With these expanded capabilities, advisors on our platform can now seamlessly offer advanced tax management while retaining direct control of the underlying assets.”
Eaglebrook’s direct indexing capability will feature diversified rules-based portfolio construction and automated tax management, including tax-loss harvesting. It will allow investors to directly own the underlying digital assets in their accounts without having to manage the assets themselves. In addition, investors with existing eligible digital assets can transfer them directly into the managed account without triggering tax liabilities.
According to Northern Trust Asset Management, assets managed using direct indexing strategies are forecast to reach over $2 trillion by 2028. The launch of direct indexing capabilities on Eaglebrook’s SMA platform aligns with the growing sophistication of investment tools that digital asset investment specialists offer to financial advisors.
Eaglebrook executives expect to add more institutional indices and customized digital asset portfolios to the platform over time.
