The value of the latest Super League TV deal has been confirmed, with RL Commercial’s latest accounts showing a big increase in profit – largely down to the success of The Ashes series.

The sport’s governing body has released its figures from the 2025 season, and in them it has shown how much the game was earning from its broadcasters.

The accounts, published on Companies House, say that “broadcast rights generated revenues of £23,532,000” – which is an increase of £214,000 from the previous year. Sky Sports’ investment makes up for the majority of that total, whilst RL Commercial says that the BBC also makes a “significant contribution.”

The game is currently at a key time, with the next TV deal still waiting to be agreed. Whether Super League remains on Sky is still to be revealed, with the NRL hoping to come in and make it so that the broadcasting aligns with the Australian competition.

In terms of other income, ticket sales brought in £8,453,000 – compared to just under £4.65 million in 2024. This is said to be largely down to the Ashes series at the end of the season, which saw sellouts at Everton’s Hill Dickinson Stadium and AMT Headingley. There was also a record crowd for the opening Test at Wembley.

Sponsorships brought in £6.42 million, which is £1.2 million more than 2024. Just under £1.7 million was made from hospitality.

In terms of outgoings, the sport gave £19.06 million to clubs. £14.4 million of that went to Super League clubs as central funding, with all 12 sides receiving £1.2 million.

£242,129 was spent on match officials, a slight increase on the previous year, whilst insurance costs dropped by around £100,000.

Despite their overall costs going up from 2024, RL Commercial still ended 2025 with over £4 million more than they had at the start of the calendar year.
