Sony Pictures hopes to find treasure as it announces a slew of new movie release dates.
Ridley Scott‘s Treasure Island will hit theaters Nov. 11, 2027, with Hugh Jackman starring as pirate Long John Silver in the feature adaptation of Robert Louis Stevenson’s classic novel. With a script from Jack Thorne, the movie also stars Owen Cooper and Hugh Grant in the story of a young boy who finds a map to buried treasure.
A month later, comedy sequel 24 Jump Street will launch theatrically on Dec. 10, 2027, with returning stars Jonah Hill, Channing Tatum and Ice Cube. Phil Lord and Chris Miller, who helmed 2012’s original 21 Jump Street and its 2014 sequel, will produce the franchise’s third installment that has set Rodney Rothman to direct a script that he wrote with Hill and Meghan Malloy.
Other moves for the studio’s theatrical calendar include video game adaptation Helldivers shifting to June 9, 2028, after having previously been dated for Nov. 10, 2027. Director Justin Lin’s film from Sony and PlayStation Productions will star Alan Ritchson following the departure of Jason Momoa. It centers on an elite unit of soldiers who battle alien creatures.

Director Roshan Sethi’s The Surgeon is set to hit theaters April 2, 2027. Michelle Yeoh, Martin Freeman, Laurie Davidson, Yuri Kolokolnikov and Joseph Mydell lead the title that hails from Thunder Road and Tango. Having premiered at TIFF, The Surgeon stars Yeoh as a skilled surgeon who is pressured to operate on a mysterious patient.
Additionally, John Phillips is set to make his feature directorial debut with the comedy Narcs, which has been dated for Aug. 20, 2027. Mason Thames and Ella Bright star in the movie that has a screenplay from Jordan Shipley and Justin Shipley, with a rewrite by Phillips and Gene Stupnitsky.
Moving up its release date by a month is Grandgear, shifting to Jan. 14, 2028, after having initially been set for Feb. 18, 2028. Godzilla Minus One director Takashi Yamazaki marks his English-language directorial debut with the feature that hails from Bad Robot and counts J.J. Abrams and Glen Zipper as producers.
