The Sussexes’ decision to link a press intrusion to a serious terror threat shows a baffling lack of perspective, argues Emily Wright.

“What happened outside Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet’s school grounds was an unacceptable intrusion into the lives of innocent kids, and the actions of those European photographers deserve firm condemnation. Security is paramount, and the Sussexes have every right to protect their family,” she writes.

“Where Prince Harry and Meghan Markle completely lose the room, however, is in their extraordinary inability to issue a simple, justified complaint without turning it into a grand, global drama centred entirely on themselves.”
